We talk to a lot of very senior people, responsible for leading change, which leads to sustainable performance improvement ... from in-house teams & consultants, to CEO's & Investors ... In recent times, the tone of those conversations has shifted from 'Sustainability' to 'Culture'. In a few chats, it's been overtly said, "We have the tools! We've been training those for years ... all we need now is the culture" ... that got me thinking over the weekend, as it reminded me of a realisation I had over a decade ago ... Which was: the tools were invented as a result of the beliefs (in those like Sakichi Toyoda (loom shuttle change) and Taichi Ohno (TPS)) ... The beliefs were formed within a cultural context, premised upon respect and self-discipline (Hansei / Kaizen). Easy to say ... but it's a massive subject and no-one has the time to explore it ... we know at Dux, that the brain prcesses images 60X faster than words, so I thought I'd make this 1 minute video, to provide an entry point into a fascinating subject. Enjoy. #btfa #boviscycle #duxinaroe #culturechange

Never has there been a better time to capitalise on disruption to the status quo ... long established habits and ways of working have been turned upside-down across the planet by the global pandemic in 2020... and for organisations across the UK, Europe and further afield, Brexit will inevitably contribute to the change challenge the leaders of those organisations will face through 2021 and beyond.
"Necessity is the mother of invention" To cope with the new and urgent challenges presented by these unprecedented events, many people are rapidly making changes to ways of working that have been static for decades ... the big question is ... what else could leaders change (and how will they have to go about facilitating that change), while everything is up in the air, so they have a more productive, profitable, competitive and resilient organisation when things land? When it comes to creating the conditions in which people (and by people, we mean adult mammalian brains) can perform at their best, the benefits of deep alignment to a common purpose cannot be underestimated ... including improved productivity and net profit from a high performance and self-sustaining culture! The only way to get your Ducks in a row is to lead from the front ... and that means Investors, CEO's and MD's need to know ... "I've always known there's more to organisational change than the market offers, this was the course i'd been waiting for." (Global Change Leader) Now that training is going 'on-line'. Watch this space for updates and to make sure you and your team are the first to benefit from 'The Dux Method'. Here's the next chat between Emiel, Bob and I, digging into the deeper issues behind organisational transformation, lean and leadership. In this episode, we are again joined by Alfredo Solarte Angulo, but this time, with those he has been helping from Fondo Accion a Non Government Organisation (NGO) focused on the Environmental, Economic and Social development of historically challenged regions of Columbia. The Fondo Accion team have embraced lean principles and tools with more gusto than we see in a typical western manufacturing improvement initiative ... and we were intrigued to discover why. #lean #leanleadership #BTFA #psychology 4th in a series of live chat's between Emiel Van Est, Prof. Bob Emiliani and David Bovis & guests, to dig into the deeper issues behind organisational transformation, lean and leadership. In this episode, we are joined by Alfredo Solarte Angulo to dig into the reasons why we see some bosses as great, while others seem ... not so great #lean #leanleadership #BTFA #psychology |
